US President Donald Trump's recent tariffs on countries around the world are expected to significantly impact global trade, particularly on consumer products such as iPhones.

Analysts warned that the cost of an iPhone could rise by as much as 30% to 40% if Apple decides to pass the additional expense on to consumers.

Most iPhones are manufactured in China, which faces a 54% tariff. If these tariffs remain in place, Apple will have to decide whether to absorb the added costs or raise prices for customers.

The entry-level iPhone 16, which was initially priced at $799, could see its price soar to $1,142 — a 43% increase based on analysts' estimates from Rosenblatt Securities.

For the more premium iPhone 16 Pro Max, which retails at $1,599, a 43% increase could push its price to nearly $2,300.

Analysts from Rosenblatt Securities stated that Apple would have to raise prices on various products to cover an estimated $39.5 billion in tariff costs.

The company, which heavily depends on China-based manufacturing, could see Apple watches increase by 43%, iPads by 42%, and AirPods and Mac computers by 39%.

As a result of the tariff news, Apple's stock dropped by 9.3% on Thursday, marking its worst performance since March 2020.

With more than 220 million iPhones sold annually, Apple faces significant pressure in its major markets, including the United States, China, and Europe.
